Railway tunnel (SENS method)
Tsugaru-Yomogida Tunnel on the Hokkaido Shinkansen Line
Tunnel constructed in soft soil with low self-supporting capability. Constructed under ground water level, concrete with superior anti-washout resistance was used in the primary lining.

Unstable ground composed of gravel. By eliminating the need for simple reinforcement using cement slurry as per the original design, the construction period was shortened by 50% and mud discharge was reduced.
